CBD Oil, or also called Cannabidiol, is a natural cannabinoid constituent of cannabis, which is derived from the hemp plant. CBD Oil does not contain Tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC), which is the chemical responsible for most of marijuana’s psychological effects. Difference between hemp and marijuana

CBD effects and uses
When examining CBD oils’ effects on anxiety and depression, a study in Brazilian found that a 300-mg dose of CBD was most effective in helping reduce anxiety during a simulated public speaking test. The study also tested a CBD oil of a placebo, a 150-mg dose, and a 600-mg dose, all of these were found to have little effect on anxiety. CBD oil works by acting on an individual’s brain receptors for serotonin, which is a neurotransmitter that regulates one’s mood and social behavior. This is compared to antidepressants and benzodiazepines which are often used to treat depression and anxiety, which also interact with an individual’s serotonin levels.
What the studies show
In another study, cannabidiol was found to reduce symptoms of social anxiety in people suffering from a social anxiety disorder. This was examined with brain scans, which showed that changes in blood flow were found in regions of the brain that linked to feelings of anxiety. Not only did the cannabidiol make the participants of the study feel better, but it also changed how their brains responded to the anxiety. CBD has also been found to treat other anxiety disorders, such as panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder. It is important to note, however, that while these studies have found sufficient evidence, these studies have only examined the short-term treatment of anxiety. Less is known about the long-term effects of using CBD oil to treat anxiety or other disorders, or how it can be used as a prolonged treatment.
How cannabinoids work
All cannabinoids, including CBD, work by attaching to certain receptors in the brain. The human body already produces certain cannabinoids on its own, which is important to note. The human brain contains two receptors for cannabinoids, which are called the CB1 receptors and the CB2 receptors. The difference between these two receptors is that the CB2 receptor is present throughout the body, with the majority being in the brain. This CB1 receptor is involved in actions and behaviors such as coordination and movement, pain, emotions, mood, thinking, appetite, memories, and much more. THC attaches to these receptors, which can cause the “high” that people experience when ingesting marijuana with high levels of THC. Looking at the other, CB2 receptor, this receptor is often found in the immune system and affects more inflammation and pain. Originally, researchers believed CBD would attach to the CB2 receptors, but it is now apparent that CBT does not directly attach itself to either the CB1 or CB2 receptors, but instead direct the body to use more of its own cannabinoids in the body to treat what needs to be treated.

As a sufferer of anxiety disorder, I had read the benefits a lot of people had experienced with it. I was skeptical like anyone should be with anything they put in their bodies, but the reviews weren’t just for adults, but greatly impactful for even children with positive results. It isn’t only being great at helping certain conditions, but a lot of people are freeing themselves from potentially harmful pharmaceuticals or from adverse reactions they get from them. In other studies, CBD has shown to greatly impact the well being of many people with diverse ailments. Even cancer patients are finding CBD to be an outstanding resource when dealing with the sickness from chemotherapy. Some even report that CBD has helped them get off of prescription pain medications. Now we are getting serious. Now the issue resides with the FDA. Currently, the FDA has not approved its use medicinally, so for anyone wanting to try this, it won’t be as easy as a prescription.
However, in recent years it has become so common that most states allow it’s sale in gas stations and even their own CBD stores that only sell those products. That says a lot to the magnitude of people who find the benefits of using CBD.
Is CBD Safe?
You may be asking, “is it safe”? As far as my research has concluded, there hasn’t been any severe implication with people using CBD. Some studies show CBD can cause levels of some prescription medicine to rise, so as someone who isn’t a doctor, I would advise you to at least speak to your doctor before deciding to try it. This is not to say that CBD is a cure-all. I still take medication for anxiety, as it is severe, but I always keep a bottle of it in the cabinet, right next to the aspirin and other common medications we all have stored away for when we need them. Unless I read other studies that say otherwise, it will be treated like any other common medicine I use.
